Kristen Patino

Urban Planner

Kristen Patino is an urban planner with a background in architecture, environmental studies and landscape architecture. Her academic and professional experiences include:

  • Sustainable transportation design strategies
  • Community centered design and community engagement
  • Green infrastructure and sustainable design practices; and
  • Creating technical drafts and experiential graphic renderings

Throughout her studies and internship experience, a strong commitment to sustainability and public interest design has driven Kristens work. Kristen has worked at different stages on a variety of projects which included engaging communities within the town of Waipahu, HI and designing transit-oriented development strategies. She enjoyed collaborating with a team of community members, designers, and planners to create greener and more accessible transportation access. In 2016, she worked with a team to develop a set of sustainable building design and usage guidelines for Quadrangle Housing. She has also delved into projects related to land remediation, public art, and community gardens.
