Description
CD+A is leading a multidisciplinary team to provide a range of green stormwater infrastructure related services to the City of Oakland. Services include supporting Oakland’s Green Stormwater Infrastructure Plan (GSI Plan) development and implementation, as required by the Municipal Regional Stormwater NPDES Permit, version 2. The Plan establishes policies, criteria, and guidance to be implemented as street and development projects are planned, designed, and constructed to meet required water quality targets.
Working closely with the City, CD+A reviewed citywide departmental documents, policy goals, and project selection prioritization criteria to develop one unified set of criteria for use in identifying and prioritizing green stormwater infrastructure opportunities, with a strong emphasis on equity. CD+A also led the technical assistance efforts to identify, prioritize, and map potential and planned green stormwater infrastructure projects and to compile and map existing projects. In summary of these efforts, CD+A developed a report template and organized and laid out the final GSI Plan.
Additionally, the team reviewed proposed countywide green stormwater infrastructure typical details to identify potential conflicts with current City standards and identified potential additional typical details the City may wish to consider developing for city-specific guidance.
